Nicknames for Jr.?

Since my brother J.P. was diverted the title Sonny Maxwell Perry the III he has decided to advocate on behalf of ZP v2.0 and requested I call him something other then Jr. I think he has a point! Jr. is pretty generic sounding.

Any Idea’s? Zane Allen?

As a “Jr.” myself… I resent the “generic sounding” comment above ;-) . I prefer to think of it as “traditional.” My oldest son is a “3rd”. I think going with nicknames is the way to go – but Zane is such a unique name already. I mean, my dad went by “Jack,” I am “John,” and with my son, we went back to “Jack.” For “Zane” it’s trickier. I like ZP v2.0. Or you could use Z2, ZZ, Zippy, Z, Zed, ZAP, Al, or Allen.

Jr is a great name. It is definitely traditional! I named him Zane as it is a unique name and I think it will serve him well. He and I can call each other Zane and their should be no confusion. It’s going to be weird at first calling another person Zane but I will get over it eventually.

Fun fact. My Mom was actually named June after her Uncle who developed the nickname June instead of Jr. Mom has already started referring to v2 as June :)

I like ZP, Junior, JR, Z square, ZAP, Zappy, lol. What about ERKA? I like that one too.

My husband, Bobby, is a Jr. He and his father are both “Robert” but his dad goes by Bob and my husband goes by Bobby. Whenever Bobby calls his Dad, he says, “Robert, it’s Robert.”

I’ll have to ask Bobby about his experience being a Jr. when we go out to dinner in 2 weeks :)

I vote for you to go by Allen, and let the little man reap the rewards of the fantastic name that is ‘Zane’….

Ah, Allen. Plan A. It would definitely take some getting use to!
